Use a cordless drill-driver
Video coming soon
A cordless drill-driver drills holes and drives screws. This lesson shows how to fit a bit, choose the right setting and drill a clean hole.
Key points
- Fit the bit firmly in the chuck, and remove the battery while you change it
- Use a masonry bit for brick and block, and a wood bit for timber
- Use the clutch setting for driving screws, so you don't strip the head
- Use the drill setting for holes, and hammer mode only for masonry
- Start slowly, keep the drill straight and let the drill do the work
- Wear safety glasses, and check for pipes and cables before you drill into a wall
